Key Features & Clinical Applications
-
Excel® Environmental Technology: The biologically inert plastic envelope eliminates the use of PVC or DEHP, removing the risk of toxic plasticizer leaching into the medication.
-
Alkalinizing Metabolic Support: Contains sodium lactate, which is metabolized by the liver into bicarbonate ions to help correct mild-to-moderate metabolic acidosis.
-
Physiologically Balanced: Provides a closer match to standard plasma chemistry than traditional 0.9% Normal Saline, lowering the clinical risk of hyperchloremic metabolic acidosis during resuscitation.
-
Dual Port System: Outfitted with independent, dedicated ports for safe drug additive injections and administration set spike insertion to simplify clinical compounding.
-
Clinical Use: Indicated for targeted acute extracellular fluid replacement, hypovolemic shock management, intraoperative fluid maintenance, and pediatric hydration.
⚠️ Usage Note: Single-dose container. This product is completely preservative-free; do not store or reuse any remaining volume following single-port punctuation.
⚠️ Ceftriaxone Contraindication: DO NOT administer Lactated Ringer’s simultaneously with ceftriaxone in neonates (28 days of age or younger) through the same or separate infusion lines due to the severe risk of fatal calcium-ceftriaxone precipitate formation.
⚠️ Hepatic & Renal Caution: Use with extreme care in patients with severe hepatic impairment (who cannot properly metabolize lactate) or severe renal insufficiency (where potassium accumulation poses cardiac risks).
