Xylocaine® with Epinephrine 1% (1:100,000) Injection, USP, 50 mL Multiple-Dose Vial

Single 50mL Vial | Box (25 Vials / Each)

Xylocaine® with Epinephrine 1% (Product #63323048257) by Fresenius Kabi is a sterile, nonpyrogenic local anesthetic solution designed for infiltration and nerve block procedures. Combining lidocaine hydrochloride with epinephrine (a vasoconstrictor) prolongs the duration of anesthetic effect and reduces local bleeding at the procedural site. This multiple-dose glass flip-top vial contains methylparaben as an antimicrobial preservative, making it a reliable standard for surgical, dental, and emergency medical settings.

Key Features & Clinical Applications

  • Dual-Action Efficacy: Epinephrine causes localized vasoconstriction, which slows systemic absorption, extends the anesthetic block window, and minimizes localized bleeding.

  • Red Color Coded: Visual identification features a bright red flip-top cap to help healthcare workers instantly identify the concentration and presence of epinephrine.

  • Preserved Formulation: Contains 1 mg/mL of methylparaben to prevent microbial growth across multiple needle punctures.

  • Extended Volume: The 50 mL vial capacity supports extensive infiltration blocks, large field blocks, or multiple small procedures within an active clinic day.

  • Clinical Use: Highly utilized for local dermal infiltration, minor dermatological excisions, dental procedures, and peripheral nerve blocks.

⚠️ Usage Note: Do Not Autoclave. Because this formulation contains epinephrine, autoclaving will cause chemical degradation of the vasoconstrictor. Protect from light.

⚠️ Contraindications: Do not use if the solution turns a pinkish hue, darkens beyond a very light yellow, or develops a visible precipitate.

⚠️ Anatomical Warning: Use extreme caution when infiltrating areas supplied by end-arteries (e.g., fingers, toes, nose, ears, penis), as vasoconstriction from epinephrine can cause localized tissue ischemia or necrosis.
